Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Surprise Boxes

Hi crafty friends! Our last stamp highlight for the January 2024 Mama Elephant release is Surprise Boxes, an adorable set illustrated by Aida Zamora.

To create the background, I did ink smooshing and splattering with Distress Oxide inks (kitsch flamingo, salvaged patina, shaded lilac, wilted violet) on watercolor paper. I cut out streamers and the hooray banner from Hooray Streamers and colored them with Distress Oxide inks. For the hooray banner, I also added Lawn Fawn prisma glitter with a Tombow quickie glue pen.

I used the Square Grid Cover to cut out the ink smooshed background and several frames from plain white cardstock. After gluing on the streamers, I cut out the inside grid lines from one of the grids to create a square frame. I glued that as my last frame layer to hide the ends of my streamers and give it a cleaner look. The tiny hearts were cut from ink blended paper (Distress Oxide kitsch flamingo) with heart dies from the Basic Set.

The images were stamped and colored with Copic markers (bear: E41, E42, E43, E44; penguin: T1, T2, T3, YR21; bunny: E50, E51, E52, R30; boxes: W1, W2, W3, R81, R83, R85, B39, BG53, BG57, V01, V12, V15, V17) and cut out with coordinating dies.

I loved the extra little images included in this set and added a few to the inside of the card with the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed all the stamp highlight inspiration this week! Happy crafting!
