Hi crafty friends! We are finishing up stamp highlights today with the new sentiment set New Beginnings. The sentiments can be used for different occasions, not just Lunar New Year so I made two cards to show how versatile this stamp set can be.
First up is a thank you card featuring the bear from the new Beary Good Day. I used Combo Rectangles to create the 3 frames and ink blended the scallops with Distress Oxides inks (crushed olive, shabby shutters, saltwater taffy, tattered rose, scattered straw, fossilized amber). I also used these colors to add some color to the rectangle background that goes on top of the scallops.
I colored the images with Copic markers:
Bear-- E30, E31, T1, T3, T5, T6; R81, R83, R85, Y21, YG63, YG67; Sun-- Y00, Y11, Y13, Y15
Cloud-- BG10, BG11, R81, R83, R85; Balloons-- E00, E01, YR00, R81, R83, R85, R00
The background panel was cut from the Quilted Cover die.
My second card features the sentiments to create Lunar New Year cards. I colored up one of the dragons from Me and My Legend with traditional colors: R22, R24, R27, R29, R59, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, W1, W2, W3, R30.
I used the oval die from Knot of Luck to cut out a panel of patterned paper. I used the detailed inlay pieces in red cardstock to create the framing on the card base.
For the inside of the card, I used red cardstock along with gold metallic cardstock to create the knot of luck. To finish off the card I stamped the inside sentiment with Versafine onyx black ink.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed all of the inspiration from the design team! Happy crafting! And to my USA crafty friends, Happy Thanksgiving!
