Introducing: Waffle Flower Shader Brush PLUS

Hi crafty friends! I am so excited to share with you a new product from Waffle Flower! You may already be familiar with their shader brushes but they have launched a new set of shader brushes called Shader Brush PLUS! And you need them in your crafty toolbox! Last month, Waffle Flower released the Shader Brush 0+ and Shader Brush 1+ sizes (and even a double ended 1+ set!). Today, they are launching the Shader Brush 2+, Shader Brush 3+ and Sampler pack!

Waffle Flower was so kind to send me some of these awesome new brushes but please note that all opinions are my own! I already have a set of the original Shader Brush Size 0 and like them for detailed stenciling. They have the new Shader Brush 0+ pack and I was very excited to try the new PLUS brushes in larger sizes from the new PLUS sampler pack. For this card, I used the 1+ and 3+ sizes to make an autumn themed encouragement card.

I used the Fall Leaves Background stencil and distress oxides (crackling campfire, rustic wilderness, spiced marmalade) on kraft cardstock. I secured my card base and stencil on the WF Grip Mat (6.5"x8.5" size). These brushes have a great balance of softness and firmness. As I inked up the brushes and started stenciling, I noticed that it was very fast and easy to cover all the spots I wanted. I especially liked the angled brush 3+ for this stencil because I was going to add 3 colors to each leaf and needed a more precise application of color. When I was adding the subsequent colors, I tried to feather in the color to have a nicer blend. Even with applying 3 colors, this card was very fast and simple because the brushes did a fantastic job of applying ink very quickly and easily.

To finish up the card, I rounded the corners and splattered antiqued bronze Distress Mica Spray. I cut out the sentiment from matte gold cardstock and vellum using the Oversized Hope Print die. I typed out the sub-sentiment with an old school typewriter and then cut it out with the Deckled Frames 2 die.

Check out the YouTube video I made for this card!
